Olympic-hopeful female cyclists boost
14th January 2008
Swift, the caravan, motorhomes and holiday park home group,
which sell under the brands, Ace, Bessacarr and Sprite, amongst
others, has equipped the women's Olympic cycling squads with
equipment and sponsorship to train up to 2012.
Young talent, such as Olympic rider Toni Bradshaw, Commonwealth
Games medallist Emma Davies Jones and a recent addition to the
squad, Alice Monger-Godfrey, bronze medallist in the national
under-23 women's road race championships, who went on to win the
national road race series whilst still a junior, are receiving
support from Swift racing.
Swift Group chairman, Peter Smith, explained why the company is
making this major investment in British cycling, "Cycling is one of
the most popular sports in the UK but probably one of the most
under funded".
"Quite often the best stars take time to
develop and the main aim of this sponsorship is to provide Swift
Racing to spread the net a little wider and help more youngsters
achieve the dream of riding for their country and hopefully go on
to win a medal in the London games".
Swift is displaying all of its new 2008 models at the Caravan
and Motorhome show, at the GMEX in Manchester from 17th
until 20th January.
