The extent of the damage caused to a caravan park in Selsey is
to cost millions of pounds to repair, it has been reported.
According to the Argus, the West Sands site was hit by waves
after sea defences were breached last week.
|
John Bunn, from Bunn Leisure, commented that the damage caused
was "heartbreaking" for everyone involved with the park.
Some 300 vehicles were written off by the damage and the area
was set to miss out on traditionally high Easter trade.
"We currently have about 400 of our 1,500 caravans open and are
getting back online between 100 and 150 a day. We hope to be fully
operational again by April 4th", said the official.
This follows a report from the Hexham Courant which stated that
visitors to Springhouse Caravan Park were disappointed by its
condition after the floods, which they described as "a sea of
mud".
