Officials in Great Yarmouth have dished out
funds in order to improve conditions for caravan dwellers in the
area.
According to the Yarmouth Mercury, some £1.34
million is to be made available to provide six extra caravan plots
and space for vans at Gapton Hall Road.
|
The motor home plots will measure 15 by 30
metres and will be able to fit a 26 foot long vehicle or a large
lorry.
New toilet blocks will also be added, each an
individual cubicle with a washbasin, the news source also
stated.
Labour county councillor for Breydon Trevor
Wainwright is in support of the changes.
He said, "Anything that reduces the number of
unauthorised encampments is to be welcomed".
This comes as businessman George Campbell's
plans to construct a four-star hotel on Winscales Moor close to
Workington have been scrapped in favour of a caravan park.
