Park Home owners’ Club - update October 2009

The Government has appointed a new minister with responsibility for Park Homes. Mr Ian Austin, MP for Dudley North replaces Iain Wright who has moved to a different department. Mr Austin has been an MP for 4 years and is a former Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.

Mr Austin will be outlining his plans for Park Homes to fellow MP’s, the National Park Home Residents’ Associations and the media at a meeting at the House of Lords later this year. We await with keen interest what he has to say on issues such as rogue park home operators, a fit and proper persons test together with any thoughts he may have on encouraging local authorities to recognise the important part Park Homes can and do play in providing a quality housing solution particularly for older people.
