The sense of community evident on so many residential parks is
rarely found on traditional housing estates and is one of the
reasons why park home life is so special, so different - and so
appealing.
Part of the reason of course is that on most parks residents are
of a similar age and are in the main retired, so therefore have
time on their hands and very often a common interest and that is to
enjoy themselves, to have fun and to live life to the full.
For a long time Towergate Bakers has recognised the importance
of community and the role that residents play in building and
creating a happy park and a caring approach. We currently sponsor
the Park of the Year competition in our Park Home Lifestyle
newsletters, which always generate some lovely and very deserving
nominations.
In 2007 we decided to do more in particular to support specific
events being organised by residents' groups for the benefit of
their wider community by making financial contributions to make the
events viable. Needless to say, we have received lots of requests
for help - and have been delighted to oblige when we can.
We are now gearing up for 2009 and look forward to hearing from
your association or social group about your plans for the year. We
want to be able to help make a difference, which means helping to
support events that might otherwise not happen without some
financial help. The events we have helped give a flavour of what we
have supported in the past, but this is certainly not an exhaustive
list.
