Reduced VAT lowers insurance premiums on Lunar models

On 1st December 2008 VAT was reduced by 2.5%, moving from 17.5%
to 15%. Towergate Bakers is delighted to announce that, as the
price of Lunar model caravans falls, we will also be lowering our
insurance premiums accordingly.
Lunar caravan or motorhome insurance premiums are calculated on the
price of the vehicle. Although the net price of all Lunar caravans
or motorhomes will remain unchanged, the recommended retail price
including VAT will be calculated at the new rate and will be
reduced by between £246.70 and £412.66 on the caravans (model
dependent) and between £653.09 and £1270.10 (model dependent) on
the Lunar motorhomes. Factory fitted optional extras will also be
amended in accordance with the new VAT rate.
A Towergate Bakers spokesperson said, "We are glad to be able to
offer good news to consumers struggling in the current economic
climate. We also expect that the low value of sterling may mean
more UK caravan holidays are also more likely this year."
