Tips and advice - Park home insurance
Towergate Bakers were the first to offer an insurance policy
specifically designed for residential park homes and have been
providing insurance cover for over 35 years. So we are well placed
to advise on the simple things you can do to reduce the risk of a
claim in the first place.
Some helpful tips
- Make sure your property is fitted with smoke alarms. Check them
regularly and replace the batteries every six months regardless of
whether the alarm has been activated or not.
- Never allow strangers into your property and leave them
unsupervised.
- Never leave expensive items on view and always lock your doors
and windows when you are not in your property or have retired for
the night.
- Always shred confidential documents or anything that includes
your personal information before putting in your rubbish or
recycling bin.
- Never use an open chip-pan – for frying chips a fully-enclosed
deep fat fryer is far safer.
- If you are going to be away from your park home for an extended
period ask a neighbour to keep an eye on your property for
you.
- If your park is not already part of a Neighbourhood Watch
Scheme, why not suggest forming one with fellow residents?
- Contact your local police community officer about other things
you can do to prevent being a victim of crime. Why not invite the
officer to visit the park to talk to the residents
association?
